| | What is an Urgent Care Facility?
An Urgent Care Facility provides evaluation and treatment of non life-threatening illnesses and injuries on a walk-in basis. Many of these facilities can also perform minor surgical procedures as well as routine physical exam and vaccination services.
Why is Urgent Care so popular?
Urgent Care Centers are becoming a popular alternative for healthcare for several reasons: - Many people do not have a doctor that they would consider their "family doctor," especially today's youth. Even when you do have a relationship with a physician, they are frequently not available or accessible when they are needed.
- Normal office hours for doctors do not provide the accessibility that patients need. Injuries and illnesses always seem to occur at inconvenient times.
- Many of us utilize our local emergency departments for minor injuries and illnesses. Utilization of the emergency department for minor illnesses and injuries takes potential time away from patients who truly require emergency care. Overcrowding in the emergency department, as well as excessive fees make the emergency department a poor choice for the evaluation and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.
Champlain Valley Urgent Care is the area's logical choice for the evaluation and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses. Since our focus is Urgent Care/Occupational Medicine, we do not function as a family practice. Although our Owner/Medical Director is Board Certified in Family Medicine, we refrain from fulfilling the role of"Family Physician." We encourage anyone over the age of 50 to establish a relationship with a Family Physician. | Helpful Links:
